ABOUT ZULEIKHA


International performer and educator, ZULEIKHA, inspires dynamic creativity through the sacred art of movement. She is renowned for her Rumi collaborations, innovative teaching, and her TAKE A MINUTE™ vitality/resiliency exercise program and TAKE A MINUTE™ For Palliative Care. Her non-profit organization, The Storydancer Project serves girls, women, children and families facing challenging life circumstances. Zuleikha is a humanitarian award recipient, including Images and Voices of Hope Media Award for outstanding work in the world promoting positive personal and social change.

THE STORYDANCER PROJECT (TSP)

TSP's mission is to inspire positive change in the face of adversity through transformative movement, performance and self-care practices that restore vitality and cultivate joy. TSP serves girls, women, and families, indigenous communities, health centers, school children, and those suffering from illness and trauma.

TSP has worked for over 15 years with India’s largest home-based palliative care NGO, CanSupport. Our innovative model of TAKE A MINUTE® for Palliative Care, created and developed by TSP Founder/Director Zuleikha, has become an indispensable part of counselors’ tool-kits in the Home Care Teams, improving quality of life for palliative cancer patients and their families. TAKE A MINUTE® for Palliative Care and TSP self-care is also implemented in the Adult and Children’s Daycare and in the Outpatient Clinics. TSP facilitates self-care sessions for CanSupport staff, for nursing students at CanSupport’s Foundation Courses, and at nursing colleges.
